I’ve said it before – my kids are water babies.
Every Wednesday afternoon, they have swimming lessons at a nearby swimming pool. They each don their speedos, swim caps, goggles and fins. They walk to the edge of the pool and they jump in. Just like penguins.
Just prior to Christmas, the manager of the swimming centre pulled me aside and mentioned that Saraya was ready to move up into the “big pool” (she has been in the “baby” pool inside up until now). When I mentioned this to Saraya, that she’d be moving up into the big class, she jumped up and down with excitement.
“I’m a big girl, I’m a big girl, I’m a big girl!”, she screamed with delight, knowing that she would now be learning butterfly and backstroke like her big sister.
And so today, she enthusiastically took her place in the big class. In the big pool. Because she’s a big girl. And she looked ever so proud and grown up.
