“Okay kids, now hold on tight! I’m going to give you a push and then you’re on your own. But I’ll be right behind you. You can do it. Just keep holding on and you’ll love it!”
It’s a kind of parental milestone that’s achieved when you allow your kids to play on their boards in the water and swim without your constant support. Sure, you are always nearby, but there comes a time when you just have to let go and hope that they hold on tight whilst enjoying the ride.
It’s a lot like life in general, I suppose.
