And then we snapped – 19/10-25/10

The closer we get to Christmas, the crazier it is! With 4 kids, the lead up to the holidays is full of concerts, next year prep orientation and information days, graduation ceremonies, parties (birthday and christmas and end of school), photo shoots, family visits, swimming carnivals, sport, Melbourne Cup, workshops, editing, catch ups with friends, and more. Then I still need to find time for housework and business and ME! And let me tell you, the housework has taken a backseat lately!

I’m doing a workshop at present, and it’s pretty darn fantastic. The first week was all about lines, this week has been all about shape and space – my two design elements!

Day 292 – Dance like nobody’s watching. I went and checked out another photoshoot location. I love that I can take my muse along with me each and every time.

Day 293 – Putting theory into practice – shapes and space.

Day 294 – You can’t half tell she’s a swimmer. Look at that beautiful back and those tan lines!

Day 295 – Wednesdays are Paddy and Mummy days, but sometimes we throw in a little playdate.

Day 296 – This teddy bear belongs to James. He has had this teddy since the day he was born. As you know, James has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a terminal muscle wasting disease, and many children living with this disease will not make it to adulthood. So one day, this will be the only physical thing we have left of him. Obviously, this image makes me sad, but I think his teddy will be sad as well. You see, James has taken “Bobby” to bed with him every single night, Bobby has never known a lonely night. One day, that will all change, and Bobby will be all alone.

Day 297 – Apparently Luna is a princess. Princess Luna to you.

Day 298 – I saw a post from an awesome (more so than me) photographer called Robin Chavez, and she did something similar but different to this. I’d never done extractions before, so I wanted to give it a go. I love learning new things, photography-wise. This was 6 or 7 photos put together as a composite. It was fun to do, but a lot of work. But I learnt something new and, even though this one isn’t the greatest, I hope to get better and better.
